Two of my favorite things have been brought together in a most magnificent way thanks to the Chicks and Bikes Blog. Here are some highlights:
This one is particularly awesome. Hot chick, bad ass dog. Stupid bike though.
My wife out for a barefoot bike ride. Love my girl.
Alternative bike girl. One of few examples of a fixy being permissible.
Old school porno bike girl. A+.
All for now, check out the site for more.

This band has been killing it lately. The self proclaimed “Biggest mistake of the year for the recording industry.” Been getting some serious play time on my pod. Gallows:
Dark, disparate, miserably angry punk/hardcore from jolly ol’ England where it all began. With no Malcom McLaren to fuck it all up. These guys are for real.

So the blog has slowed down once again. But this time I’m not upset about it. In fact, it’s a sign that things are going well. Life has been incredible lately. After getting a taste of downhilling on the California trip, I remember why I fell in love with the sport. My passion has been reinvigorated, and it’s translating into every aspect of life. It’s just a great feeling that’s hard to express in words. Classes have been exciting, training has been going really well, we’re all upping our park game on the slopes, I’ve just gotten back on the moto for the season, and my friends have proven once again to be amazing.

Speaking of friends and skiing, check out Lethal Descent Clothing. Super dope outerwear straight from my old high school crew. Shit’s blowing up. Check em here.

Now for some tunes. The new Vampire Weekend album came out not too long ago. I’ve been listening to it a little bit here and there, and still don’t have a sound opinion on it. It’s…well, it’s different than their rookie release. Different can be good. Let me know what you guys think about it. Here’s my favorite track off the album (yes I know this has already been posted):

And finally, the 2010 Cochella lineup was released a few days ago, as I’m sure everyone already knows. Holy hell this year is going to be amazing. Too bad it’s so close to finals and $300 for tickets. I’ll just have to wait for the YouTube vids or something.

So my time in Califronia has drawn to an end, but we finished off on a bang. We started off with one last shuttle day in the Leguna Hills at my favorite track of the trip, Telonics. Here’s a pic of the crew in front of the best view I have ever experienced while riding downhill:
After shuttling we made our way to the first round of the Monster Energy Supercross season at Angel Stadium, which was absolutely incredible. This was my first time attending a Supercross, but I’ve followed the series closely for years. I was blown away at the spectacle created by the even organizers. Everything there is made for the fans, be it through television broadcast or live in person.
-Lazar show and packed house for rider introductions.
On top of the atmosphere the racing was full on and action packed. Ryan Dungey surprised me the most, giving James “Bubba” Stewart a serious run in the final moto. Also surprising was the fact that both Ryan Villipoto and Chad Reed, members of the high profile Monster/Kawasaki team, missed the podium completely. Kawasaki must be pissed. Look for both of them to charge at the next round in Phoenix.

The next day we took off bright and early to make our return to the 303. Cali treated me well, and I’m hoping to get back out there soon to get some DH bike time under my belt before Sea Otter. And to get some more of this:
4×4, Fries, and Chocolate Shake.
All for now.

Werrrrrd. Things are going well out here in Cali. We have had incredible weather, and have been able to ride some awesome spots. Thursday we went out to Lake Elsinore again and cranked out a serious number of runs. That track is so fun you never want to stop riding it! Spomer from Vital MTB was out there taking some snaps, and he managed to get some pretty good content from the sight. Check it out here. Here’s a couple I like:
-Me leading MT into a nasty little steep. Photo: Spomer
-Mike Kreger breaking through the dust. Photo: Spomer
-Me, headed into a tight rock squeeze. Photo: Spomer
I was pretty psyched on how the photos turned out, and it was good to get to ride with Kregoid again.

On Friday the crew headed over to “The G-Spot”, a pretty dope trial with lots of man-made features, jumps, drops, etc, in Simi Valley, CA, also known as Charles Mansons back yard and porn capital of the world.
Charlie wasn’t home, which was a bummer, but the trail was sick as hell and we got to catch up with some old buddies from the industry.

It’s Saturday now and the crew is gearing up for one last shuttle sesh in the Leguna Hills, and then off to Supercross to watch my boy Josh Hill bring the pain! One more update to come.

So I was going to try and do a daily update thing for the Cali trip, but it’s just not gonna happen. Here’s update 2:
So far I have:
-Ridden some of the dopest trails I have ridden in a long time. Laguna and Lake Elsinore are both super sick. Totally different style, but both good.
-Checked out some nasty jumps with The Griz. Here’s a little video, not of me, from Vital:
-Eaten In-N-Out twice, so I need to up my burger game real fast.
-Had some of the best fish tacos of my life, only to get kicked out of the place minutes later for not being of age.
-Not worn deodorant once.
-Not taken nearly enough pictures.
-Introduced Moga to Papi Jump on the iPhone, and therefore ruined his life.
All for now. More content later I hope.

First day of the Winter Break 2010 Cali trip is in the books, and it was successful on all levels. We drove through the night last night, had a quick sleep in the morning, and then pulled into the Wentz Family Residence in the early afternoon. Not twenty minutes later we were geared up and hit some killer trials in Leguna Beach. The view from the drop off point of the shuttle was incredible! A vast expanse of ocean to the west, multi-million dollar Leguna Beach homes nestled on the cliff side, and green rolling hills as far as you could see. Check the pic, courtesy of Moga-dishu
This place is a paradise. I had to get a pic of myself to make sure I wasn’t just dreaming.
The bike worked amazingly well today, and I was astounded as to how quickly my legs got back underneath me. Mid way through the second run I started to push a little bit, and by the end of the session I was feeling about 85% back up to speed. Hopefully it’ll all be back soon. It doesn’t hurt that I’m out here riding with dudes that are pinned.
Then, to finish off a great day of riding, Triple-Triple from the ol’ In-N-Out Burger. Nothing better
Day 1= Pure Success
All for now.

I’m headed to California for a the next week before school starts back up. While in Cali I’m going to:
-Ride a shit load of bicycles. It’s about time I get back on the steed, and where better to do it than sunny Laguna?
-See lots of girls. With bewbs. Awesome.
-Reunite with the bike crew.I’ve kinda fallen off the face of the earth lately, so this will be good.
-Try to drive for 15 hours straight. I got it. Kevin knows.
-Anaheim Supercross!!!!
-Try to take some pictures. I always fail.
-Explore L.A- Never been
-Not get arrested.
There it is. My list of objectives for Cali. Should be a mellow trip, lots of riding and lots of relaxation. I’ll throw up some pics here and there.

This has nothing to do with Cali or road trips or anything. Just thought it was cool.
All for now Droogies.

As we near the end of a decade, I decided to take a look back at my favorite releases of 2009.
Gallows- Grey Britain. Gallows are sick. Punk, hardcore, whatever this album was huge and for good reason.
Blakroc- Blackroc. When I first heard the Black Keys had a hip hop project with the likes of RZA, Mos Def, Q-Tip, etc., I just about lost my load. This album brings the blues, soul, and hip hop together for one of the best albums of 2009. Period.
(500) Days of Summer Soundtrack. This soundtrack is unbelievable. The Smiths, Regina Spektor etc. etc. Just plain good.
Camera Obscura- My Maudlin Career. I just recently found Camera Obscura. They produced the catchiest song of 2009 with “French Navy.” Good stuff.
Trash Talk- S/T Trash Talk self released their newest album, something not many can do. Awesome band, awesome album.
Passion Pit- Manners. Try and listen to Passion Pit and not be happy, I dare you.
Raekwon- Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…Pt. II. Raekwon’s triumphant return to hip hop does not disappoint. Awesome album, thats all I can say. Check out “house of flying daggers.”
Trapped Under Ice- Secerets of the World. Arguably my favorite hardcore record of 09. Super catchy. Super hard. Just the way I like it.
Kid Cudi- Man on the Moon: The End of Days. I’ve been a huge Kid Cudi fan all the way back when 10.Deep released A Kid Named Cudi. So I was counting the days for this to come out and was not disappointed. From the poppy tracks to slower tracks, I love it all.
Phoenix- Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. I’m not going to lie, this is the first Phoenix album I purchased. Every track on this album is unbelievable which makes it my favorite album of 2009.
Looking forward to 2010:
MGMT- Congratulations.
Lupe Fiasco- Lasers
Trash Talk- Eyes and Nines
Here’s to a great 2009 and an even better 2010.
Over and Out,
ADAM
